W is for Withdrawal

So clearly I'm out of month and not out of letters.  I thought about withdrawing from the challenge because clearly I blew it.  However, withdrawl indicates quitting, and I don't quit....most things.  Also withdrawal carries negative connotations (and memories) alcohol and drug wtihdrawal (super unpleasant from what I hear).

So I am going to soldier on for the next few days until I reach 'Z'.  I should have been able to get it done in a month, but I think I've mentioned a certain lack of discipline on my part.  So like a track star who gets injured in the big race, I'm going to limp across the finish line with tears in my eyes, but dammit I'm going to finish something that I start.

Guess this is a sort of half assed excuse for a post but I wanted make it known that just because I'm out of month, doesn't mean I'm out of alphabet and I won't stop until I run out of letters.  Hell, then I may make some up.  Start with the Greek alphabet or something.  you just never know with me.

Thanks for sticking with me.

  1. Even though you're the last to the finish line, many others have quit the race. You're still a winner in your own way.

Wow, does that sound canned or what?

  2. Yes, do it! As Lost said, lots of people couldn't finish for one reason or another. I didn't do as well as I thought - twice I came up empty-handed and did re-posts from my beginning days as a blogger which fit the letter day. As far as I'm concerned, that means I didn't hit my goal of a new piece every single day. So what. I did the best I could, which is all anyone can ever expect. I think it's cool that you are continuing! :))

  3. I'm pretty sure that vajazzling your blog gets you a 3 day pass... so x, y, z away!
In fact I like this alphabet idea; the structure and regularity is more significant than the 30 days so I may just give it a whirl this May :)

  4. Hey, I started late but, contrary to Idaho's comment about you being last to cross the finish line, you need not worry. That honor will go to me. Maybe. I am only on I, and I have happened upon a writers block for the ages.

  5. I don't think the month should matter more than the actual finishing of the challenge. When you get it done, you get it done. Why do we put such pressure on ourselves?

  6. You aren't giving up. Many people threw in the towel at L or M. You're doing good.
